Ten extra deep biodegradable pots. Not sold individually.
Made from plantation timber waste and renewable peat, the porous nature of these pots means drainage holes are unnecessary and roots are aerial pruned when they penetrate the pot walls. Plants develop a branching root system rather than coiling around the sides of the pot.
Planting the pot with plant means the roots are not disturbed and as the pot breaks down it even supplies a small amount of nutrients.
Ideal for starting seeds of deep rooted species, tree seedlings, perennials or any seedlings that resent root disturbance.
We use them for all our deep rooted biennials and often direct sow into the pot, preventing any transplant shock.
These pots dry out very fast if not enclosed in some kind of box/tray, where if not disturbed they will last a full year without breaking down. |
